Anubias barteri

Anubias barteri (family Araceae) is a much more robust plant than the nana variety and its round or heart shaped leaves can add a lot to the aquarium. Anubias barteri attaches easily to rocks and driftwood but does not tolerate having its rhizome buried. Like the other Anubias species it can also have algae colonizing on its leave as the last for a long time on the plant. Growing the plant in a shady place in the aquarium may help combat this problem. This species can also be propagated from cutting the rhizome into pieces. Plants flower readily when grown emersed but do not set seed easily.
